This three-storey modern family home was thoughtfully designed by Archebiosis Architects. The company was tasked with creating a home that honoured the rich history and landscape of Coogee Beach. Featuring sprawling ocean views, plenty of natural light and a seamless connection between the indoors and outdoors, the home is as functional as it is stunning. The expert team extensively researched the area prior to construction, the findings from which framed the home’s entire design. The unique pitched roof was a thoughtful nod to the old bathing pavilions along Coogee Beach. Taking further inspiration from the surrounding local landscape, charred timber cladding and natural stone were selected for the exterior, creating a striking result. The home’s interior is equally well designed and full of character. 22,000 bricks were recycled from the original house to create the impressive exposed brick feature wall, which extends throughout all three levels. Steel accents add plenty of visual interest, while the timber trusses and staircase provide additional warmth and contrast beautifully against the polished concrete floors.
